KMUW’s Signal Expansion Project is one of the biggest initiatives the station has undertaken…ever! There are multiple facets to this project including a significant expansion of our primary coverage area, the digital upgrade of our studios, new analog and digital transmitters, a new tower location with double the antennae elevation, “green” features throughout the project and, of course, initiation of HD Radio™ broadcasting that allows for three simultaneous, full power programming streams.

We needed to make information on all aspects of this project accessible to our listeners and Lifeboat Creative stepped in to help. Jeremy Luginbill, the founder of Lifeboat Creative, is more than just an excellent web designer. He is also a KMUW listener and supporter so he was especially interested in the nuts and bolts of our endeavor.

Jeremy listened carefully as we described the various aspects of the project and then Lifeboat Creative suggested a separate web page (www.EvolutionofKMUW.org) as a method of making information on each aspect of the project accessible on demand by our listeners. If anyone will want to dig into the details it will be Public Radio listeners!

But Lifeboat Creative didn’t stop there. As a full service design firm, they suggested an image that could serve as a unifying logo for KMUW’s Signal Expansion Project.

The Lifeboat Creative design tells the story of KMUW’s ever evolving commitment to public service by providing high quality programming content. And because of the special website they created, you can listen to KMUW’s HD1, HD2 or HD3 programming online even before we are on the air thanks to Lifeboat Creative.
